Pahalgam Terror Attack: Congress MP Ummeda Ram Beniwal on Monday triggered a controversy by questioning the religious angle in the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22, which claimed 26 lives, mostly tourists. Beniwal said there was no evidence that terrorists killed tourists after confirming their religious identities.

"We Indians always remain united to protect the integrity, sovereignty and self-respect of our nation. No external power, be it America or any other country, can interfere in our internal affairs. India is capable of making its own decisions and any kind of foreign pressure is not acceptable," he added in a video post on X.

Nefarious Designs Of Terrorists Will Never Get Success: Beniwal

As far as terrorism is concerned, our armed forces and our citizens are working together to ensure that the nefarious designs of terrorists will not succeed, he asserted.

"Our forces have given a befitting reply to the terrorist attack in Pahalgam. All the religions of India, Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, Christians have shown unity in foiling the conspiracy of the terrorists. This is the real strength of our India, integrity and brotherhood," the Congress MP said.

The youth and common people of our border Thar region have set a wonderful example in serving the country, he added.

"I am proud that I come from the land where the tales of valour of the Barmer-Jaisalmer border districts are written. Despite being adjacent to the Pakistan border, the people here face every challenge for the sovereignty of the country. Our country's armed forces are strong and have displayed their valour and courage many times for the security of the nation. No external force can challenge the dignity of our country. India's future is bright. Jai Hind," the post read.
