CUET UG 2024 Update:  The National Testing Agency (NTA) on Sunday announced that it would conduct a CUET (UG) retest for over 1000 candidates on July 19. This comes after several students raised their grievances in front of the agency. NTA had earlier on July 9 announced a re-exam of CUET (UG) between July 15 and 19 for candidates whose grievances were found to be correct.

Although the agency declared a schedule of the retest for select candidates, it remained tight-lipped on the expected date of CUET UG 2024 results, which has already been delayed by over two weeks. The NTA had released the provisional answer keys for various courses, however, the final answer keys are still awaited.

The delay in CUET (UG) results comes as NTA remain at the eye of the paper leak storm. It has been facing flak from students, parents and other stakeholders over alleged paper leaks and irregularities in the NEET (UG) 2024 and UGC NET exams. While UGC-NET was cancelled just a day after it was held, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is probing the lapses in the NEET UG 2024.

Why NTA Conducting CUET UG Retest For Some Students

The NTA claimed that around 1,000 candidates received question papers in languages other than their chosen ones. These students, spread across six states, will be allowed to take a retest on July 19.

"Some of the grievances include time loss due to distribution of wrong question paper," a source said.

A total of 250 out of 1,000 CUET-UG aspirants, for whom the NTA is conducting a retest, are from Oasis Public School in Hazaribagh. This school is also under scrutiny for the alleged leak of NEET-UG question papers.

According to the official notification issued on Sunday, the grievances received from candidates up to June 30, 2024, regarding the CUET (UG) 2024 exam as well as the complaints sent to rescuetug@nta.ac.in between July 7-9 (before 05:00 P.M.) have been reviewed.
