Cyclone Dana completed landfall on Odisha's coast at midday today, bringing heavy rain and gusty winds to several state districts. The landfall continued till 12 in the noon before dying down deep in Odisha's northern parts, the India Meteorological Department said in an update on Friday. The cyclone entered coastal Odisha between Bhitarkanika in the Kendrapara district and Dhamra in Bhadra in the night, bringing heavy rainfall and high-speed winds touching 110 kmph.

Several reports say the storm's fury was maximum in Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Balasore, and Jagatsinghpur. Trees were uprooted in Bhadrak district due to the gusty winds, while several roads remained jammed due to waterlogging owing to incessant rains.

- Cyclone Dana, currently centred near North Coastal Odisha, is moving northwest at 7 km/h. Located 40 km from Bhadrak, it’s expected to weaken into a deep depression within six hours, IMD said in its latest hourly bulletin at 12:30 pm. 

- Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi said on Friday that the state has achieved its 'Zero Casualty Mission' as there have been no reports of any loss of human life or injuries from the severe Cyclone Dana, which hit the coast on Thursday night.

- According to the latest update by IMD, the severe Cyclone Dana, currently positioned near north coastal Odisha, is moving northwest and is expected to weaken into a cyclonic storm by midday. Heavy rainfall is forecast over Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal today, with isolated extremely heavy showers likely. 

- Flight operations resumed Friday morning at Bhubaneswar’s Biju Patnaik International Airport after a suspension due to Cyclone Dana. Kolkata's Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport also reopened for flights

- As per the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Odisha is currently experiencing strong winds at a speed of 100-110 Kmph gusting to 120 kmph.

- The landfall process will take one or two more hours to complete, the weather body said on Friday morning.

- "The severe cyclonic storm "Dana" moved north-northwestwards with a speed of 12 kmph and lay centred over north coastal Odisha, about 15 km north of Dhamara and 30 km north-northwest of Habalikhati nature camp (Bhitarkanika)," It said.

- "It is likely to move nearly west-northwestwards across north Odisha and weaken gradually into a cyclonic storm by the forenoon of today, the 25th of October. The system is under continuous surveillance of the Doppler weather radar at Paradip," it said.

- Odisha Chief Minister Manjhi monitored the situation late in the night State Emergency Control Room, Rajiv Bhavan, in Bhubaneswar, ANI reported.

- Odisha Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja said that six lakh people have been evacuated and moved to cyclone shelters.

- Over 750 trains and 400 flights were cancelled due to the cyclone. Bengal and Odisha were on high alert due to Cyclone Dana. As a result, around 750 trains and 400 flights were cancelled. In Bengal, 550 trains either running through or destined for areas likely to be affected by the cyclone were cancelled, while 203 trains were cancelled in Odisha.

- Flight services at Kolkata Airport and Bhubaneswar's Biju Patnaik International Airport have been suspended until Friday. On Thursday, 40 flights were cancelled.
