In a major boost to rail connectivity between Bihar and Rajasthan, Indian Railways has announced a new Amrit Bharat Express service between Darbhanga and Khatipura (Jaipur). The train is expected to improve travel convenience for passengers commuting between the two states.
The inaugural run of the service is to take place on Sunday from Khatipura as a special train (09711). Regular services of the train will start on June 22 from Khatipura and on June 23 from Darbhanga.
East Central Railway CPRO Saraswati Chandra informed that Train No. 19725/26 Khatipura-Darbhanga-Khatipura Amrit Bharat Express will run six days a week.
The schedule has been finalised, and the train will depart from Khatipura on all days except Friday. The train will depart from Darbhanga on all days except Sunday.
The Amrit Bharat Express will consist of 22 coaches, including eight sleeper coaches, 11 general second-class coaches, one pantry car and two luggage-cum-guard brake vans (LSLRD).

The train leaving Khatipura for Darbhanga under normal schedule will arrive at 12:55 pm in Darbhanga on the third day of its journey, whereas the train from Darbhanga to Khatipura leaving at 4.30 am will reach Khatipura at 8:40 am the next day.
Railway officials also announced a minor change in the timing of the Gomtinagar-Darbhanga Amrit Bharat Express and the Narkatiyaganj-Badhni Passenger train, citing a new train to be introduced into services.
The Railways expects the new Amrit Bharat Express to provide faster and more convenient connectivity, benefiting thousands of passengers travelling between Bihar and Rajasthan.
