The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) on Friday sold seven of the 14 penthouses up for sale via e-auction. The highest bid received for one of the flats was Rs 5.77 crore. At a hefty reserve price of ₹5 crore, these four-bedroom duplex flats in Dwarka Sector 19B, with a plinth area of 424 sqm, are the most expensive residential property launched by the DDA. 

According to a report by Hindustan Times, apart from seven penthouses, 267 other apartments, including 138 super high-income group (SHIG) flats and 129 from the middle-income group (MIG) category, were successfully booked on Friday through the e-auction mode. “There was a healthy response from bidders, with the premium received being as much as 80% higher than the reserve price in cases,” said a DDA official as quoted by Hindustan Times.

The date for the auction of the remaining penthouses is yet to be decided. Meanwhile, 946 HIG apartments with a base price of Rs 1.4 crore will be auctioned on Saturday. According to a report by PTI, the registration process for these flats started on November 30, with the e-auction officially beginning on Friday.

According to the DDA, Sector 14 and Lok Nayak Puram have 316 and 647 MIGs, respectively, while Sector 19B in Dwarka has 14 penthouses, 170 super HIGs, and 946 HIGs. The bidders engaged in "fierce competition" the whole time, indicating "high demand for DDA (Delhi Development Authority) flats," the authority said.
