Kedarnath Diwali: The festival of Diwali was celebrated with grandeur at Kedarnath Dham, where over 15,000 earthen lamps lit up the sacred temple premises, creating a mesmerising sight in the Himalayas. The temple complex was beautifully adorned with flowers and lights, adding to the festive and devotional atmosphere as priests and devotees participated in the lamp-lighting rituals.
The Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTTC) organised the event, making elaborate arrangements to ensure a memorable celebration for devotees and pilgrims. The lighting of diyas not only upheld ancient religious traditions but also offered visitors a divine visual experience.
12,000 Lamps Light Up Badrinath Dham
Similarly, in Badrinath Dham, the spirit of Deepotsav was celebrated with equal devotion. Around 12,000 lamps were lit by temple priests, locals from Bamni, Mana and Pandukeshwar, along with devotees and members of the Hotel Association of Badrinath. The entire temple town shimmered with light, marking Diwali as a festival of faith, unity, and joy in the holy shrines of Uttarakhand.

Meanwhile, Ayodhya celebrated a record-breaking Deepotsav on October 19, 2025, lighting over 26 lakh earthen lamps along the Saryu River. The grand spectacle, spread across 56 ghats, set two Guinness World Records, for the largest oil lamp display and most people lighting lamps simultaneously. Thousands of volunteers contributed to the preparations, creating a mesmerising scene of devotion and light. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said the event symbolised “the blend of tradition and modernity.” As dusk fell, Ayodhya’s illuminated ghats and colourful rangolis transformed the holy city into a breathtaking reflection of Lord Ram’s divine legacy.
