Dehradun ATS Colony: After the Municipal Corporation, now the Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA) has also tightened its grip on the arbitrary actions of builder Puneet Agarwal in ATS Colony on Sahastradhara Road.
An investigation conducted on the instructions of MDDA Vice President Banshidhar Tiwari found discrepancies in the plans of two buildings belonging to the builder. Consequently, the investigation has recommended cancellation of the plans.
MDDA Investigates Complaint Of ATS Welfare Resident Welfare Society
Ajay Singh, president of the ATS Resident Welfare Society, filed a complaint regarding approved maps in the name of builder Puneet Agarwal and his mother, Usha Agarwal. The complaint alleged that the builder had deceived the authority into approving the map and proceeding with construction. Considering the seriousness of the matter, MDDA Vice President Banshi Tiwari formed an investigation committee headed by Joint Secretary Gaurav Chatwal.

The committee has found in its investigation that the first map related to the builder has been compounded. The condition of the compound is such that some parts would have to be demolished. However, the part outside the boundary of the compound is still intact. Apart from this, the road mentioned in the map of the first building has been added to the setback of the second building against the rules. A gift deed was also executed in an attempt to conceal the discrepancy related to the road. However, during the investigation, when both buildings were measured, the issue came to light. As a result, the investigation report recommended the cancellation of the map.
A show-cause notice has also been issued to the builder. He has been given time until October 16 to file his response. Previously, the builder was accused of encroaching on land owned by the Municipal Corporation. However, the Municipal Corporation took action during the investigation and removed the illegal encroachment.
