The victim, who has been living in a state-run girls' shelter since the incident happened, was brought to the district hospital for treatment on Thursday evening after her health deteriorated.
Doctors are expressing concerns that the girl may have been pregnant before the gang rape incident. The female gynaecologist at District Hospital Coronation has written a letter to the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) seeking medical advice in this regard.
The SIT in charge, SP City Pramod Kumar and CMO Dr Sanjay Jain have both refused to comment on the issue, claiming they have not yet received the medical report. Additionally, the chairperson of the Child Welfare Commission, Dr Geeta Khanna, has also refused to comment on the matter.
Given the seriousness of the situation, the victim has been referred to the Doon Hospital. It has been reported that doctors are continuously monitoring her condition and have conducted several medical tests.
