Delhi News: A 25-year-old UPSC aspirant was found dead in his rented room in Delhi’s Old Rajinder Nagar on Saturday evening. Police said the student, identified as Tarun Thakur, was from Jammu and had been living in the area to prepare for the civil services examination.

The body was discovered hanging from the ceiling fan with a bedsheet. A suicide note was found in the room, in which Tarun stated that he alone was responsible for his death, according to a senior police officer.

A PCR call was received at Rajinder Nagar police station around 6:32 PM, reporting the incident. A police team reached the spot quickly and confirmed the death.

The matter came to light after Tarun's father, who had been trying to reach him by phone, got no response. Concerned, he contacted the landlord. The landlord accessed the second-floor room through an adjoining unit and saw Tarun hanging inside. He immediately informed the police.

Tarun’s mobile phone was recovered from the room and his brother, who lives in Gurugram, was also informed.

The building where the incident occurred has seven separate rooms, all rented by UPSC aspirants. Police called the crime investigation team to the location for further inspection, and legal procedures have begun.
