Delhi AQI Today: Delhi’s air quality plunged into the 'Severe' category on Monday morning, with the Air Quality Index (AQI) recorded at 402 at 7 AM. The deterioration marks a sharp escalation from Sunday morning, when the city’s AQI was in the ‘Very Poor’ category.
Visuals from multiple locations, including Akshardham and Kartavya Path, showed vehicles crawling through thick and toxic haze.

Delhi AQI Turns Severe: Check Station-Wise Data
According to Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) data, the national capital’s air quality plunged into the ‘severe’ category on Monday morning, with an AQI of 402 at 7 PM. Anand Vihar emerged as the worst-affected area in the national capital with an AQI of 458. It was followed closely by Jahangirpuri at 439 and Ashok Vihar at 430.
Other major monitoring stations crossing the 'Severe' threshold included Chandni Chowk (426), Mundka (416), Okhla Phase-2 (411), Narela (404), and Burari Crossing (401).

As Delhi’s air quality continues to remain in the hazardous zone, medical experts raise health concerns over prolonged exposure to toxic particulates, which can pose a severe threat to children, the elderly, and individuals with respiratory or cardiac conditions.
Delhi Weather Forecast
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for the national capital today as very dense fog severely impacted visibility across the region late Sunday night. According to the latest forecast, the maximum temperature is expected to be around 22 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature is expected to drop to 7 degrees Celsius.
Dense to very dense fog is likely in the morning and at night. Authorities have advised residents to stay alert and avoid non-essential travel during early morning hours as the national capital continues to battle with cold, fog and toxic air.
