Delhi AQI Update: The air quality in the national capital, Delhi, is worsening hour by hour and day by day, with the Air Quality Index rapidly deteriorating compared to days earlier. The overall air quality index in Delhi slipped to 391 at 7 am on Sunday, which is just 9 points away from the severe level and 56 points below the numbers recorded yesterday, Saturday at 8 am, as per the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).
The air quality index (AQI) in Delhi stood at 335 at 8 am on Saturday, improving from 352 observed at 7 am the previous day. However, the AQI numbers have dropped significantly from what they were on Saturday at 7 am or 8 am.
Station-Wise AQI In Delhi: Air Quality Turns Severe, Crosses 400 Mark At Multiple Places
- The air pollution crisis in Delhi is now clearly visible from the numbers to the health crisis, and the struggle to breathe. The majority of AQI stations have registered a decline in AQI, with stations like Bawana, Ashok Vihar, Anand Vihar, and Punjabi Bagh slipping to the 'severe' category.
- Bawana registered an AQI of 336 at 7 am on Sunday, followed by Ashok Nagar, Punjabi Bagh and Anand Vihar, standing at 316, 315, and 312, respectively, placing them all in the severe category.
- The air quality index in Chandani Chowk was observed 'severe' at 409, while at Dwarka Sector 8, it remained 'very poor'at 383.
Delhi Air Quality Update: AQI At Key Stations
- At nearly all the AQI stations across the city, the AQI numbers dropped as per the data released by the Central Pollution Control Board on Sunday.
- Air Quality Index at the key station as of 7 am on Sunday is as follows-
IGI Airport stood at 358 in the very poor category, Jahangirpuri 433 ( significant drop from the previous day and in 'severe' category), Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium 398, Lodhi Road-IMD 377, Major Dhyan Chand Stadium 381, Mandir Marg 390, Mundka 421, Najafgarh 349, Narela 418, Nehru Nagar 426.
