Delhi AQI Update: Apart from Delhi, infamous for its throat-burning Air Quality Index (AQI), several other states in North India are suffering from deteriorating air quality.

On Thursday, the Air Quality Index (AQI) released by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) showed that the air quality in several cities of North India remained extremely poor, as breathing issues persisted even after four days of Diwali.

Artificial Rain In Delhi Expected Next Week

As winter intensifies, air quality in the city is expected to deteriorate further. In a significant step towards improving the air quality with advanced technologies, Delhi successfully conducted its first cloud-seeding test flight on Thursday. This flight was a critical component of an artificial rainfall campaign scheduled for October 28-30.

Delhi is now poised to experience its inaugural artificial rain event. The operation now awaits suitable cloud cover, forecasted to be ideal for seeding on October 29-30.

Haryana’s AQI Continues To Deteriorate

Meanwhile, Haryana’s air is continuously getting polluted. According to Thursday’s CPCB report, five cities from Haryana were among the ten most polluted cities in the country. These include Bahadurgarh (325), Dharuhera (322), Jind (302), Rohtak (299), Faridabad (298), and Charkhi Dadri (268). However, Ambala ranked 11th in the country after Meerut, with an average AQI of 253 on Thursday. On the night of Wednesday-Thursday, Jind’s AQI crossed 400.

The Haryana Pollution Control Board has issued instructions for strict monitoring in sensitive cities, controlling vehicle emissions, preventing garbage burning, and launching special campaigns for dust suppression.
