The investigating agencies have made a significant development in the Delhi car blast case as they have detained a man who followed Dr Umar Nabi to the Faiz-e-Ilahi Mosque in Central Delhi, hours before the explosion.

According to a report by The Indian Express, the suspect was detained and was being jointly interrogated by intelligence agencies.

The report cited sources in the Delhi Police Special Cell saying that the suspect was seen while around 50 CCTV cameras were analysed to trace Umar's movement before he parked his i20 car at T5 parking area near Red Fort at 3:19 pm.

"While he is walking, he turns back anxiously… We analysed the CCTV footage and saw another person in a blue attire walking behind him. He, too, enters the mosque after Umar. So far, we can’t say whether they were related or what exactly was their relation… but nothing is being ruled out." the report quoted the sources as saying.

Umar walked into the mosque at 2:34 pm on Monday and "spent considerable time inside the mosque. We are probing the purpose of the visit and whether we met someone there," the report stated.

The investigating agencies are also investigating a major hawala link. News agency IANS cites intelligence sources saying that Rs 20 lakh were routed to Dr. Umar, Muzammil, and Dr. Shaheen. The money is suspected to have come from a Jaish handler.

From Rs 20 lakh, around Rs 3 lakh was spent on fertilizer and a dispute over funds emerged, with key leads traced through Muzammil.
