Delhi Metro Update: The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) on Tuesday announced that the Lal Qila Metro Station will remain closed on November 12 due to ongoing security measures following the blast near Red Fort on Monday evening. Officials confirmed that all other metro stations are operating normally.

The explosion near the historic Red Fort on November 10 claimed 13 lives and left several people injured. The incident has triggered a major security review in central Delhi, prompting authorities to cordon off the area and restrict access to nearby landmarks. The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has also ordered the closure of Red Fort from November 11 to 13 to assist the ongoing investigation and ensure public safety.

In a post on X, the DMRC stated, “Due to security reasons, the Lal Quila Metro Station shall continue to remain closed on the 12th of November also. All other stations are functional as normal.”

Meanwhile, the Delhi Traffic Police issued a fresh advisory for commuters on Tuesday morning, urging them to avoid Netaji Subhash Marg, where traffic movement remains restricted. Both carriageways and the service road between Chhatta Rail Cut and Subhash Marg Cut have been closed to vehicular traffic until further notice.

“Commuters are advised to avoid these routes and use alternative roads for a hassle-free journey,” the police said in a statement.

Security remains tight around Chandni Chowk and nearby areas, one of Delhi’s busiest markets, where additional police and paramilitary forces have been deployed. Emergency teams and hospitals, including LNJP Hospital, continue to assist the injured as investigations into the cause of the blast progress.
