As the farmers of Punjab and Haryana continue to stay put at Khanauri and Shambhu borders, the Samyukta Kisan Morcha (non-political) and Kisan Mazdoor Morcha (KMM) on Sunday said they will restart their agitation and reach Delhi’s Jantar Mantar on March 6.

The farmers will also be staging a four-hour ‘rail roko’ across India on March 10.

While addressing people at the Bhog ceremony of the deceased farmer Shubh Karan Singh at the grain market in Bathinda, KMM leader Sarwan Singh Pandher urged farmers from across the country to reach Jantar Mantar on March 6 using public transport, private vehicle or on foot.

The union leadership, however, did not clarify the course of action after the agitators assembled in Delhi.

President of the Sidhupur faction of the BKU, Jagjit Singh Dallewal, said KM (non-political) and KMM were backed by over 200 unions and rail roko will be to press the demands of farmers.

Earlier, Haryana Police said they were mulling visa and passport cancellation of farmers who are allegedly involved in violence at the borders with Punjab. Ambala DSP Joginder Sharma said the CCTV footage from the border areas is being ascertained and several persons have been identified. He said the details of miscreants will be shared with the passport office and embassy for action.

“We have identified involved in violence coming to Haryana from Punjab in the name of farmers' protest. We have identified them with CCTV cameras and drone cameras. We will request the Ministry and embassy to cancel their Visas and passports. Their photos, name and address will be given to the passport office. We are working on cancelling their passports,” Sharma said while talking to ANI.
