Delhi CM News: Nearly two weeks after registering a resounding victory in the Delhi Assembly Election 2025, the BJP on Wednesday announced party's central observers. As per the announcement, former Union minister Ravi Shankar Prasad and national secretary Om Prakash Dhankar have been appointed as observers for the election of its Delhi legislature party leader, who will be the next chief minister of the national capital.
This came hours ahead of the BJP's legislature party meeting, which is scheduled to take place later in the evening to elect its leader. Once decided, the leader will meet Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena at the Raj Niwas to stake claim to form the new government.
The BJP won the Delhi Assembly Election 2025 by securing 48 seats of the total 70 Assembly segments in the national capital. The saffron brigade witnessed a massive surge in its seat share in Delhi, which rose from 8 in 2020 to 48 in 2025 polls. Meanwhile, AAP faced massive drubbing and only managed to win 22 seats in the recently concluded Assembly election.

However, there is not even a hint, let alone confirmation, on who will be the next Delhi chief minister. Meanwhile, amid the suspense over the Delhi CM face, it is being speculated that the BJP might name a woman chief minister in the national capital, taking forward the legacy of late Sushma Swaraj, who became Delhi chief minister when the party last came to power in 1998. Delhi has been ruled by three women chief ministers including Sushma Swaraj, Sheila Dikshit and Atishi.
