Delhi Deepotsav 2025: Videos flooding social media on Saturday evening captured Kartavya Path in Delhi glowing with the light of 1.51 lakh diyas, marking the beginning of the Delhi government’s Deepotsav celebrations. The mesmerising visuals showed the iconic stretch illuminated end to end, as thousands gathered to witness the capital’s first Diwali-special Deepotsav event.

The dazzling sight of flickering lamps and a drone show depicting scenes from the Ramayana quickly went viral online, drawing admiration from users nationwide.

Delhi Kartavya Path: Drone Show And Ram Katha 

As part of the celebrations, around 1,000 drones lit up the night sky, narrating the story of Lord Ram through Lord Hanuman, while a laser show and Ram Katha recitation added to the festive ambience.

Performances by artists and devotional music filled the air, with crowds capturing every moment on their phones. The entire stretch turned into a sea of lights as people celebrated Dhanteras and the spirit of Diwali together.

Delhi CM Rekha Gupta Inaugurates Deepotsav Event

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta inaugurated the Deepotsav event, joined by Tourism Minister Kapil Mishra, senior officials and dignitaries from Delhi Tourism. In her address, she said the festival symbolised Delhi’s connection with India’s cultural roots and eternal traditions.

“When Lord Ram returned to Ayodhya, the land was illuminated with lamps. Today, Delhi glows with the same spirit,” she said. “With 1.51 lakh diyas, Ram Katha, and the drone show, Delhi is celebrating its first Divine Festival of Lights.”

Ayodhya Gears Up for Record-Breaking Celebration

While Delhi’s Kartavya Path sparkled, Ayodhya is preparing for its grand Deepotsav on Sunday. Over 26 lakh diyas are set to illuminate Ram Ki Paidi and nearby ghats, promising a historic display of devotion and light.
