Dwarka Expressway Underpass Update: An underpass on the Dwarka expressway connecting the Basai flyover with Gurugram sectors 102 and 102A is scheduled to open on Monday, according to a statement from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).
This underpass, which has four lanes and is 548 metres long, is intended to ease traffic flow on both sides and give convenient access to sectors 102, 102A, 103, 106, Kherki Majra, Basai, Dhankot, and other nearby locations.
The road surface has been laid, all lights have been erected, and the final touches are being done, according to project authorities.
"The underpass will be opened by Monday. We have installed all the required fixtures, which are now being cleaned," stated a senior official from the contracted firm, as reported by The Hindustan Times.
Furthermore, according to a senior GMDA official, the underpass will soon link to a planned route that would run from sectors 102–102A to AIIMS in Bhadsa village, Jhajjar.
Residents of Gurugram will be able to travel to Jhajjar and other hospitals because of this connection. The Public Works Department (PWD) will build the road, which will cross through the villages of Mankdola, Budhera, and Dhankot. The procedure for acquiring land has already started.
The Basai overpass was officially opened by then Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar in April of 2023. However, in order to allow traffic to flow while construction was underway, NHAI had to build service roads on both sides of the underpass. NHAI officials stated that legal disputes over property acquisition on the western side of the Dwarka expressway were the reason for the underpass's completion delays.
