Delhi Chief Minister Atishi on Tuesday accused BJP leader Ramesh Bidhuri’s nephew of intimidating and attacking Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) workers in the Kalkaji constituency. In a letter addressed to an Election Commission official, Atishi claimed that Bidhuri’s nephew resorted to hooliganism in an attempt to influence the ongoing election process.
The Delhi CM claimed that Bidhuri’s nephew threatened the AAP workers saying, "Sit at home, or you’ll have your hands and legs broken. This is our election.” She has requested the election officials to deploy paramilitary forces in Kalkaji to ensure the safety of voters.

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, Atishi wrote, "Fearing defeat in Kalkaji, Ramesh Bidhuri's nephew and relatives resorted to hooliganism. Yesterday evening, BJP members intimidated, threatened and used force on Aam Aadmi Party workers. Many women workers were also misbehaved with. A letter demanding action against these goons has been sent to the election officials. Paramilitary forces have also been requested to be deployed in the Kalkaji Vidhan Sabha constituency."
Delhi CM Atishi, in her complaint, mentioned that a similar incident occurred three or four days ago, where BJP workers allegedly slapped an AAP worker who was engaged in door-to-door campaigning. However, Ramesh Bidhuiri or the BJP have not issued any official statement regarding Atishi’s remarks.
BJP candidate Ramesh Bidhuri recently criticized Atishi, his rival from the Kalkaji seat, calling her a "hirni" (doe) for running around in the constituency ahead of the assembly polls, while alleging that she had done little for the people in the area over the years. In response, the AAP sharply condemned the remark, accusing the BJP of being "anti-women" and making disgraceful comments.
The Delhi Election 2025 is scheduled to be held on February 5 and the results will be announced on February 8. The elections will witness a fierce contest between the AAP, BJP, and Congress. Amid a surge of corruption allegations, the ruling AAP will be aiming for a hat trick.
