Delhi Farmers Protest News Today: As Delhi braces for the second tranche of farmers' protests, police on Tuesday issued a traffic advisory to the commuters travelling to or out of the city. The police have heavily fortified important entry points of the Union Territory with barricades, walls of containers, nail mats, spike strips and heavy concrete blocks to stop the farmers' Delhi Chalo march from entering the city. All important borders including Singhu, Tikri and Ghazipur have been turned into fortresses to bar the agitating farmers.
Amid the traffic chaos, the commuters had a harrowing time as they battled severe jams at multiple locations. While Delhi police are trying to ensure the smooth flow of traffic, many videos surfaced on social media showing traffic movement at a snail's pace.
Given these developments, the Delhi Traffic Police has issued specific guidelines for commuters, focusing particularly on goods vehicles and those travelling from different border points.
Here is the detailed advisory of the Delhi Police
- Entry of goods vehicles via the Greater Noida Expressway into Delhi is prohibited.
- Goods vehicles are not allowed to travel between Haryana's Sirsa and Uttar Pradesh's Surajpur via Parichowk.
- To reach Delhi from the Chilla border, take the Sector 14A Flyover, Roundabout Chowk, and Sector 15, passing through Sandeep Paper Mill Chowk and Jhundapura Chowk.
- From the DND Border to Delhi, utilize the elevated road via Sector 18 starting from Film City.
- To access Delhi from the Kalindi Kunj Border, take Sector 37 from the Mahamaya Flyover.
- If using the Yamuna Expressway to reach Delhi, exit at Jewar Toll towards Khurja and continue via Jahangirpur.
