New Delhi: A major fire has broken out in a shop in Gaffar Market in the Karol Bagh area of the national capital on Monday afternoon, causing panic amongst the locals in the area. According to reports, four fire brigades have been deployed to the scene to douse the fire.
The fire department received the information around 12:04 pm and immediately rushed to the scene. However, the exact cause of the fire is currently under investigation, as per the Delhi Fire Service, reported by the ANI.
Officials have not reported any casualties or injuries. Moreover, all the people who were in the direct line of fire were evacuated, and no casualty was reported by the officials.

Paharganj Fire
A similar fire incident was reported a few days ago in a shopping complex in the Paharganj area of Delhi. As soon as the information about the fire was received late at night, seven fire tenders rushed to the spot to extinguish the fire and continue the rescue work.
Subsequently, police and fire department officials were immediately rushed to the spot, and six people, including a guard and five workers, were rescued from the site. Initial investigation by the police revealed that the fire might have been caused by an electrical short circuit.
Sadar Bazar Fire
Similarly, a massive fire had broken out at a shop in Old Delhi’s busy Sadar Bazar area during July. As per the authorities, the blaze began during the afternoon, and 25 fire tenders were deployed to the scene to bring it under control.
The fire erupted on the first floor of a three-storey building located on the main road, raising concerns due to the densely packed market area. Deputy Chief Fire Officer Sanjay Tomar stated that a call was received minutes after the fire started, and due to the presence of many surrounding shops, the fire soon engulfed the nearby areas.
One firefighter had sustained injuries during the operation and was rushed to the hospital immediately for treatment. Apart from him, no other injuries or trapped individuals have been reported so far.
