The Haryana government is reportedly planning to connect the Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway with the under-construction Global City project to boost the regional connectivity. The officials stated that the construction of a link road will provide convenience to the residents of several regions by cutting the travel time significantly and reducing the traffic congestion. They further stated that a 60-meter-wide road has been proposed to the government for the construction of the road connecting the expressway to the much-awaited city. Earlier last month, the state government had announced that several new projects will be announced in the upcoming few months to boost the connectivity.
While providing details, a Gurugram Metropolitan Region Development Authority (GMDA) official stated that required lands for the project fall in two villages—Khandsa and Mohammadpur Jharsa. He further stated that the road will improve connectivity and will also give a boost to the financial activities in the region.
“The land required for the road falls in Khandsa and Mohammadpur Jharsa villages — some of it privately owned and under litigation and some of it is owned by the Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC)," one of the senior officials were quoted as saying by the Hindustan Times.
"The Global City project is a high priority project of the Haryana government and giving it access through the Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway will further improve access to this residential and commercial project,” said a senior GMDA official, requesting anonymity," he added.
Earlier last month, the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) officials stated that the Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway will go through upgrading works in the upcoming months. They further stated that the works will be conducted to provide convenience to the commuters travelling between the expressway and Dwarka Expressway.
They further stated that the upgrade work will provide relief to the residents of multiple regions by reducing traffic congestion and cutting the travel time significantly.
