Delhi Crime News: Days after the Sonam Raghuvanshi and Muskan Rastogi case, another shocking murder emerged in which a woman murdered her husband with the help of her lover. In all these cases, wives made solid plots before killing their life-partners to mislead the police. In the fresh case, reported in Delhi's Dwarka, the woman, Sushmita, first killed her husband Karan Dev, then attempted to give a colour of electrocution incident to the crime.
Days after the man's death by electrocution at his home, his wife and cousin were arrested, with police suspecting that the two had drugged the victim and killed him.
According to police, on July 13, a call was made to the PCR from Mata Rooprani Maggo Hospital in Uttam Nagar, informing them of the death of Karan (36). The woman and her alleged lover, who is the son of Karan's uncle, were arrested, following police probe.
First Gave Sleeping Pills, Then Electrocuted
As the police probe progressed, the cold-blooded crime was revealed. The investigation found that the due - woman and Karan's cousin - allegedly drugged him by giving him sleeping pills before electrocuting him to death at his residence.
After the murder, she rushed to her in-laws' house nearby and informed them that Karan had died, prompting them to rush him to the hospital.
Initially, Karan's family did not raise any allegations and even wished to waive the post-mortem examination. The police insisted on the post-mortem, considering the young age and to rule out any foul play. The post-mortem was conducted at Deen Dayal Upadhyay (DDU) Hospital.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dwarka) Ankit Singh said on July 16, Karan's younger brother, Kunal Dev, approached the police, expressing suspicion over the circumstances surrounding his brother's death.
Police sources said Dev had found chats between Karan's wife and her partner where they had planned to kill his brother.
A case under section 103 (punishment for murder)of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) has been registered by the police and further investigation is underway.
