Delhi-Karnal Namo Bharat Update: The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has started the groundwork on the 136-km-long Delhi-Karnal Namo Bharat Corridor. In preparation for construction, the NCRTC has invited tenders for the road widening and renovation to ensure traffic movement along the proposed route. According to NCRTC officials, when the construction on the Delhi-Karnal Namo Bharat corridor begins, parts of the road would need to be barricaded or diverted, disrupting traffic movement. To ensure smooth traffic flow and the convenience of commuters, the road widening project will be carried out as a pre-construction activity. Once the construction is completed, travel time between Delhi and Karnal will be reduced to 90 minutes.
Although the Delhi-Karnal Namo Bharat corridor is yet to receive approval from the Central Government, the NCRTC have invited tenders for road widening. This move by the NCRTC will facilitate easy traffic movement during construction, while providing wider roads for commuters.

“The scope of work includes all civil works related to road widening and carpeting, new road construction and repairs. It also includes the construction of RCC drains and the installation and laying of RCC hume pipes,” an official was quoted as saying by Jagran.com.
Delhi-Karnal Namo Bharat Corridor: Station, Length, Other Details
The 136-km-long Delhi-Karnal Namo Bharat corridor will be built from Sarai Kale Khan in Delhi to New ISBT in Karnal, reducing travel time between the two cities to 90 minutes. Seven out of 18 stations of the corridor will be in the national capital.
The NCRTC officials have divided the entire Delhi-Karnal Namo Bharat corridor into three sections: the first section between Sarai Kale Khan and Alipur, the second between Alipur and before Samalkha and the third section between Samalkha and Karnal New ISBT. According to the officials, about 100 km of construction work on the RRTS corridor will be done in Haryana, while the remaining 36 km of construction work will be carried out in Delhi. A depot each has been planned at Murthal and Ganjbar to support operations.

Once the construction of Namo Bhaart corridor is completed, commuters will be able to travel from Delhi to Karnal in Haryana in just 90 minutes, from Kashmiri Gate to Murthal in 30 minutes, from Indraprastha to Sonipat in 35 minutes and from Kashmiri Gate to Panipat in one hour.
