CJP Protest: Amid the ongoing Cockroach Janata Party (CJP)-led students protest at Jantar Mantar, the Delhi government has announced that the liquor shops on the weekend will close at 8 pm, instead of 10 pm, its normal time. The government stated that the shop operators have been directed to follow the timings, adding that the decision was taken to maintain the law and order amid the large gathering in the central parts of the national capital.
Closure Time Temporarily Changed
While providing details, the officials stated that the decision was taken after the government received inputs from the Delhi police. The inputs indicated that additional preventive measures were needed to maintain law and order in the Central Delhi. Earlier on Friday, heavy force was deployed in the region amid a surge in protesters at the Jantar Mantar.
The officials further stated that this temporary change in the closure time of liquor shops has been made to prevent any unwanted incident during the protest.
