Delhi News: In a major action, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) on Thursday sealed a hotel and liquor shop operating illegally near the underpass in the Friends Colony Industrial Area in East Delhi. The authority stated that the hotel was operating without any permission and the locals had complained of minors allegedly visiting there regularly. The authority took action after they received multiple complaints from the locals. The MCD officials stated that the hotel was sealed after its owners failed to show several critical documents, suggesting that the hotel was being operated illegally. Apart from the action of MCD, BSES also cut off the electricity connection of the building, citing their illegal operation.
The officials further stated that the locals had also complained of violent activities near the liquor shop operating under the same hotel building. They added that the local women also had to suffer, as the liquor shop is located near a temple. The officials confirmed that the operation of a liquor shop near a temple and an educational institute had created inconvenience for the locals, leading to its closure.
