Delhi Meerut Namo Bharat Corridor Project: The journey from Delhi to Meerut will be completed in 45 minutes from the last week of June as the 82 km long Namo Bharat Corridor, part of Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS), nears completion, jagran.com reported. It is expected to be opened for travellers by the last week of June. People will be able to reach Modipuram in Meerut from Sarai Kale Khan, Delhi in just 45 minutes once it is operational.
Work Progressing Rapidly On Remaining 27 Km Of Corridor
An NCRTC official said that a 55-km section of the corridor with 11 stations is already operational, while work on the remaining 27-km stretch is progressing at a fast pace.
Work is still underway on the two-kilometre extension from Sarai Kale Khan to
Jangpura. The official said Namo Bharat trains have already served over one crore passengers.
For last-mile connectivity, NCRTC has partnered with Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) and other service providers. Some operators also offer discounts to NaMo Bharat passengers, the official said.
Trial Run Underway In Delhi And Meerut
The official said trial runs are already underway on two sections. The 4.5-km elevated section between Sarai Kale Khan and New Ashok Nagar in Delhi and the 23-km section between Meerut South and Modipuram in Meerut are being trialled.
He said that trains can be seen running on the entire corridor as part of the ongoing trial run. The remaining sections will also be made operational soon.
