DMRC Delhi Metro Phase 4 News: The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) is preparing for a massive expansion as part of its Phase 4 corridor development. With an existing metro network spanning 395 km, including the Noida Metro Aqua Line and Rapid Metro Gurugram, the city’s transport system is set to undergo a significant transformation. According to a report by ET NOW, DMRC is expected to introduce 44 new metro stations by 2026, enhancing connectivity and easing travel for millions of commuters.
DMRC Phase 4 Expansion Plan
Delhi Metro is expanding rapidly, and the Phase 4 corridor extension is a major step in this development. Currently, there are 289 metro stations across 12 corridors. According to the ET NOW report, services between Janakpuri West and Krishna Park Extension are already operational, with the remaining sections expected to be completed by 2026. This includes the 2.8 km extension of the Magenta Line. The new additions will be fully functional by the end of the financial year 2026-27, making travel in the capital more seamless and efficient.
New Metro Stations Under Delhi Metro Phase 4
The Phase 4 expansion will focus on three key corridors:
1. Maujpur to Majlis Park: Stretching 12.318 km, this corridor will feature eight new metro stations:
Yamuna Vihar, Bhajanpura, Khajuri Khas, Sonia Vihar, Soorghat, Jagatpur Village, Jharoda Majra and Burari.
2. Krishna Park Extension to Ramakrishna Ashram Marg: This 26.462 km-long corridor will introduce 21 new metro stations: Keshopur, Paschim Vihar, Paschim Vihar West, Mangol Puri Metro Station, West Enclave, Pushpanjali, Deepali Chowk, Pitampura, Prashant Vihar, North Pitampura, Haiderpur Badli Mor, Bhalaswa, Majlis Park, Azadpur, Ashok Vihar, Derawal Nagar, Ghanta Ghar, Pulbangash, Sadar Bazar Metro Station, Nabi Karim and Ramakrishna Ashram Marg
3. Delhi Aerocity to Tughlakabad: Spanning 23.622 km, this corridor will include 15 new metro stations: Mahipalpur, Vasant Kunj, Kishangarh Metro Station, Chhatarpur, Chhatarpur Mandir, IGNOU, Neb Sarai, Saket G Block, Ambedkar Nagar, Khanpur, Sangam Vihar-Tigri, Anand Mayee Marg Junction, Tughlakabad Railway Colony and Tughlakabad.
The Phase 4 expansion is expected to enhance Delhi’s public transport infrastructure significantly, reducing road congestion and making commuting more convenient. With the introduction of these 44 new metro stations, more areas will gain direct metro access, ensuring a smoother and faster travel experience for residents and visitors alike.
