Delhi Metro News: Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has changed its last metro timings on all lines including Airport express line ahead of Indian Premier League (IPL) matches in the city. To ensure smooth facilitation for spectators during the T20 matches of the IPL scheduled on April 13, 16, 27, 29, and May 11, 2025, at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Feroz Shah Kotla Ground, New Delhi.

The stadium is located at the Delhi Gate and ITO metro stations on the Violet line, which runs between Kashmere Gate and Raja Nahar Singh. 

In anticipation of the sudden rush expected at nearby Metro stations after the match, the Delhi Metro will operate 76 additional train trips on match days by extending the last train timings by approximately 1 to 2 hours across all lines. This measure aims to ensure that spectators can return to their destinations smoothly using the Metro.

Speaking about the facility, Altamash, the store manager of Metrostay, said, "This pod hotel started in January. There are around 150 dormitory beds available. People can register through both Goibibo and walk-in options. We have several facilities like a theatre, lounge area, and game zone. We also have separate dormitories and washroom facilities for females. We're currently working on private rooms as well, and those will be launched soon." 

The DMRC launched a pod-style hotel on April 6, 'The Metrostay,' at New Delhi Metro Station, providing commuters and travelers with an affordable and convenient lodging option. With prices starting at just Rs 400, the facility is designed to cater to those in transit, particularly passengers using the nearby Airport Express Line and New Delhi Railway Station.

The 'Metrostay' offers cozy bunk beds in clean, well-lit dormitory-style rooms. Each guest is provided with a digital locker to securely store personal belongings. For professionals on the move, a dedicated co-working space is available. The facility also features a games area with indoor recreational activities like carrom, along with a mini-theater where guests can enjoy movies and live screenings.

To ensure safety and comfort, especially for female travelers, Metrostay provides separate dormitories and washrooms for women.
