Delhi-NCR Rains: Friday morning’s downpour in the Delhi-NCR region brought traffic movement to a standstill on the Delhi-Meerut Expressway, with severe waterlogging worsening the situation. Office-goers faced massive delays and long hours of traffic congestion on key routes. Traffic movement slowed down at multiple spots in Noida and Delhi.delhincrrains

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a yellow alert for Noida, Ghaziabad and parts of the National Capital on Friday.

A massive jam was witnessed near Pandav Nagar on the Delhi-Meerut Expressway. Severe traffic congestion also reported on Anand Vihar Road and Ghazipur Road.delhitraffic

As rain battered Greater Noida, a jam was witnessed on NH-34 near Chhapraula. Waterlogging was also reported in multiple areas.delhincrtraffic

According to IMD, the monsoon is active across India. The weather body has forecast light to moderate rainfall along with light thunderstorms and lightning in Delhi-NCR today.

“Light to moderate rainfall accompanied by light thunderstorm and lightning is very likely to occur at Delhi ( Tughlakabad, IGNOU, Deramandi), NCR ( Ghaziabad, Indirapuram, Chhapraula, Noida, Dadri, Greater Noida) Yamunanagar, Kurukshetra, Karnal, Panipat," IMD posted on X.

Delhi’s maximum temperature is expected to be around 30 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature will stay around 23.5 degrees Celsius on Friday.
