Delhi-NCR Rains: Heavy rain lashed several parts of Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) today, August 11, which led to waterlogging in several areas, including Noida and Gurugram. Visuals shared by news agency ANI showed roads inundated in Noida's Sector 9 and other areas.

Rain also lashed parts of Delhi, Gurugram and Ghaziabad, causing traffic snarls.

However, people got relief from the humid climate as Delhi-NCR has been receiving downpours for the last several days.

Meanwhile, as waterlogging and traffic disruptions hit the city, the weather department has issued certain advisories for the general public and commuters. The MeT department has warned the public of slippery roads, low visibility and traffic snarls.

It has been advised to avoid going to areas where waterlogging occurs often. Before going out, commuters are asked to look for traffic congestion on the route. People have been advised to stay updated with weather alerts.

Residents of Delhi-NCR woke up to light rains this morning. By afternoon the cool breeze kept the weather pleasant, providing comfort from humidity. Thereafter, the intensity of rain increased in NCR including Delhi and Noida.

Delhi Weather Update

The Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted a generally cloudy sky with moderate rain on Sunday, adding that similar conditions are likely to prevail throughout the week. Meanwhile, the weather body has also issued a yellow alert for the national capital from Wednesday to Friday (August 14-16).

The capital city witnessed light rain on Saturday leading to waterlogged roads and traffic snarls at multiple locations. Rainfall is likely to continue in other parts of the country as well with IMD issuing rainfall alerts for 23 states.
