Delhi-NCR Weather Update: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning in parts of Delhi-NCR. While the showers have made the weather in the capital more pleasant, humidity levels remain largely unchanged. IMD has also issued an alert, warning of sporadic rain across the region.

In a post on X, IMD stated, “Light to moderate intermittent rainfall is likely over Yamunanagar (Haryana), Saharanpur, Deoband, Shamli, Muzaffarnagar, Kandhla, Khatauli, Baraut, Bagpat, Modinagar, and Pilakhua (U.P.). Light rainfall is also expected at Kurukshetra.”

Showers are also predicted in several parts of the NCR, including Chhapraula, Noida, Dadri, Greater Noida, Gurugram, and Ballabhgarh, along with Mahendargarh (Haryana), Amroha, Siyana, Sikandrabad, Bulandshahr, Shikarpur, Khurja, Pahasu, and Atrauli (U.P.).

Delhi-NCR Weather Updates

- Drizzle on Monday: According to IMD, light drizzle is expected in Delhi-NCR on Monday. Some parts of West Delhi received light rain around 5:30 am. Cloudy conditions are likely to persist, with rain more frequent in the morning, evening, and night hours. The maximum temperature may reach 35 degrees C, while the minimum is expected to stay between 23 degrees C and 26 degrees C.

- Wind Speed & Humidity: The sun will appear intermittently, with winds blowing at a speed of 30–35 km/h. Despite the rainfall, residents will still have to deal with high humidity along with light showers. People have been advised to plan their day keeping weather conditions in mind.

- Rainfall in Last 24 Hours: Notable rainfall has been recorded across the capital- Pragati Maidan (2.7 mm), Pusa (13 mm), Janakpuri (9 mm), Naraina (7 mm), Narela (2.5 mm), Najafgarh, Safdarjung, Palam, and Dwarka also received varying amounts of rain.

- Weather/ Monsoon Outlook: IMD has reported the formation of a western disturbance and a low-pressure area, which may impact weather conditions in Delhi-NCR on August 18. Earlier forecasts had already suggested the possibility of light drizzle at isolated places.
