Delhi-NCR Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has stated that the Delhi-NCR is likely to witness a significant drop in temperature in the upcoming days. The weather department stated that the residents of the national capital are also likely to witness lower visibility and breath-related issues, especially in the morning hours. Apart from this, the IMD also emphasised that the air quality in Delhi and nearby cities is not likely to improve in the next few days. The weather department advised the residents to limit their outings and wear a mask during the outdoor activities to avoid inconveniences.

While providing details, the weather department stated that the lowered visibility led to inconveniences for the commuters in the early hours; however, the situation improved after a few hours. While the maximum temperature of Delhi was recorded at 27 degrees Celsius, the minimum temperature remained around 9 degrees Celsius. The IMD stated that the minimum temperature is likely to drop by two to three degrees Celsius. Apart from this, several regions are also expected to witness a cold wave in the upcoming days, leading to inconveniences.

As per the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the Air Quality Index (AQI) of the national capital was recorded at 363 on Tuesday. Rohini registered the highest AQI at 416, followed by Anand Vihar at 401, while Jahangirpuri and Wazirpur both recorded 400. Several other stations were nearing the severe threshold, highlighting persistently hazardous conditions across large parts of Delhi.

CPCB classifies AQI levels as 0-50 good, 51-100 satisfactory, 101-200 moderate, 201-300 poor, 301-400 very poor, and 401-500 severe. Apart from Delhi, several other northern states, including Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Punjab, are also likely to witness a drop in the temperature and a cold wave in the upcoming days, leading to inconveniences.
