Delhi received light rains on Sunday morning as the city woke up to a much needed relief from the scorching heatwave. The national capital experienced thunder and cool winds as the showers brought down the temperature. The change in weather is an outcome of Cyclone Biparjoy which formed over the Arabian Sea. The met department has issued forecast of rain with strong gusty wind on Sunday.

On Friday and Saturday too, light rains occurred in various areas of Delhi however the weather remained hot and humid.

On Saturday, the maximum temperature of Delhi was recorded at a normal level of 39.2 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature was 27.6 degrees Celsius. The humidity level in the air was 90 to 42. The maximum temperature was recorded above 40 degrees in many areas.

The Meteorological Department has forecast that it will be cloudy throughout the day on Sunday. Gusty wind will blow at a speed of 35 to 45 kmph. There may be light rain at some places. The maximum and minimum temperature can be 38 and 26 degree Celsius respectively.

Till When Will Relief From Heatwave Last

According to the Meteorological Department, due to the effect of Western Disturbance after the Biparjaya storm, the weather will remain more or less similar on Monday. The sky will be clearer from Tuesday and the temperature will also start rising again. However, the chances of heatwave going on next week are slim to none.

Noida Sees Drizzle In Evening After Hot And Humid Day

In the industrial city of Noida, people were troubled by the strong sunlight and heat throughout the day on Saturday. In the evening the weather suddenly changed and it rained with thunder and lightning. Light rain also occurred in many areas after 5 pm.

The India Meteorological Department has predicted a partly cloudy sky with rain and thundershowers till Monday. According to the Meteorological Department, there was more than 80 percent humidity in the district on Saturday. After that there was a lot of sunshine in the day. The heat was felt despite the maximum temperature being 37 and the minimum temperature being 27 degree Celsius.

Due to the humidity during the day, people who came out of their houses appeared drenched in sweat. The AC of the people present in the houses sat in front of the cooler. The people present in the house were in a bad condition with the help of the fan. Cyclonic storm Biparjaya moved northeastwards and weakened into a deep depression over southwest Rajasthan.

It will continue to move in the northwest direction and is likely to intensify into a depression and thereafter into a low pressure area. A trough is extending from Sub-Himalayan Bengal to North Bay of Bengal. There is a possibility of rain in the next 24 hours.

Cyclone Effect In Agra

The effect of Cyclone Biparjoy also began appearing in Agra on Sunday. According to the weather department's forecast, the wind was expected to blow at a speed of 50 to 60 km per hour and there were chances of rain. This situation will remain till June 20.

The Meteorological Department will soon announce the date of arrival of the South-West Monsoon. Southwest Monsoon becomes active in Agra from 25 to 28 June. It lasts till the first week of September.

For five years, the monsoon is coming in the first week of July. This time the Meteorological Department is not able to give a clear date regarding the monsoon due to the cyclone Biperjoy that has developed in the Arabian Sea.

Meteorologist Dr Pawan Sisodia said that only after the effect of the cyclone is over, the exact status of monsoon will be known. Day and night temperatures will drop rapidly for the next three to four days. Meteorologist Dr Danish said the effect of the cyclone will remain till June 20.

On Saturday, the sun kept playing hide and seek behind the clouds. The maximum temperature was recorded at 41.8 degree Celsius. And the minimum temperature remained at 29.3 degrees Celsius.
