The National Commission for Women (NCW) has announced the launch of a five-day “Mahila Maha Jansunwai” camp in the national capital. Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and NCW Chairperson Vijaya K. Rahatkar inaugurated the camp on Monday at the Commission’s auditorium, in Jasola, South Delhi. The aim of the camp is to take prompt action on pending cases concerning women. Rahatkar stated, For the next five days, we will hear 300 cases daily and take appropriate action on each one.

“Our goal is zero pendency in complaint resolution by year-end. Over the next 5 days, NCW will hear 250–300 cases daily, ensuring every voice is heard,” Vijaya K Rahatkar said.

The NCW Chairperson stated that the objective of this camp is to provide effective solutions to complaints related to women. She mentioned that the NCW has been conducting similar initiatives across 11 states in the country, beginning in the month of December.

On 'Mahila Maha Jan Sunwai' programme, NCW Chairperson Vijaya Rahatkar says, " Today, in Delhi, we have organised 'Mahila Maha Jan Sunwai' event. For women of the country, we are going to various places and to do the 'Jan Sunwai' of their problems because they can't travel to Delhi. We have done 'Jan Sunwai' in various places until now...this will go on for 5 days. We have 1,100 cases with us."

"This is a very good beginning. The National Commission for Women has organised a 5-day camp here, giving quick action on all pending cases of Delhi... The entire team of the Women's Commission and our National President of the Women's Commission are present here... I believe that all unhappy and distressed women should get justice. All actions are being taken quickly... We are taking cognisance of the fact that a Women's Commission should be formed soon so that they can get a better hearing," Delhi CM Rekha Gupta said at the event.

The Union Home Minister also expressed concern about the safety of women in Delhi and promptly convened a meeting to address the issue. He personally reviewed the security arrangements. As part of the initiative, 500 crèches will be established to ensure the safety of working women and to provide a safe space for their children while they are at work. The Chief Minister stated, "I stand with the women of Delhi, 24/7."
