Delhi News: The railway crossing between Palam and Delhi Cantt on the Delhi-Rewari line has been completely closed for traffic due to the construction of a new underpass. The new underpass aims to alleviate traffic congestion on the Palam Flyover and ease the daily movement for residents of Delhi Cantonment to Sadh Nagar, Raj Nagar, or suburban Dwarka.
Authorities have advised residents to use alternative routes until the project is completed to avoid inconvenience.
Delhi-Rewari Line Underpass To Ease Traffic In Delhi Cantt
Currently, the Delhi-Rewari route sees heavy traffic, particularly during peak hours, causing heavy traffic in the nearby areas. Commuters rely on the Palam Flyover to travel between Delhi Cantt and Dwarka, a structure built nearly 17 years ago, which sees heavy traffic congestion every year, Jagran.com reported.
Commuters often use the parallel railway crossing due to unpredictable gate closures, further worsening traffic congestion. Once the underpass is completed, traffic will flow uninterrupted, providing relief to the Palam Flyover and reducing congestion across the region.
Authorities have begun the construction of the underpass, and once the underpass is operational, it will allow residents of Delhi Cantonment, including those from Prahladpur village and the nearby Air Force Colony, to travel to and from suburban Dwarka Sadh Nagar, Raj Nagar, hassle-free, the report added.
The new underpass at the Delhi-Rewari railway crossing between Palam and Delhi Cantt aims to ensure smoother travel for residents of the area.
