Parts of Delhi NCR, including Noida and Ghaziabad, witnessed moderate to heavy rain on Wednesday, offering respite from the prevailing heat. The rainfall, attributed to the strengthening monsoon, has significantly lowered temperatures across the region. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), more showers are expected in Delhi over the next two days and a yellow alert has been issued.
The recent downpours have brought relief from the scorching heat conditions that had gripped the national capital and its surroundings. On Wednesday, the maximum temperature was recorded at 38 degrees Celsius, with the minimum temperature dropping below 30 degrees Celsius after rains.
Earlier on Wednesday, the humid conditions had made it uncomfortable for residents amidst the heat. However, the subsequent rain prompted many to step out of their homes and offices to enjoy the weather. Meanwhile, Tuesday saw dense clouds gathering after 11:30 am, followed by substantial rainfall in many areas until 2:30 pm.
Looking ahead, Delhi's weather forecast indicates maximum and minimum temperatures of around 35 degrees Celsius and 25 degrees Celsius respectively for the next five days. The sky is expected to remain generally cloudy, with forecasts predicting light to moderate rain until July 13. A possibility of heavy rain is anticipated on July 14 and 15.
