People in Delhi can now earn up to Rs 50,000 per month by reporting traffic violators to the police. The initiative has been launched by the Delhi Police to curb the rising incidents of rash driving and other traffic violations.
The general public can now help Delhi Police in ensuring that traffic rules are followed. Under this, if you spot any traffic violation happening anywhere, you simply need to click a photo and upload it on the Prahari App.
After that, Delhi Police will verify the traffic violation and issue a challan to the offender. Once the violation is confirmed, those who report such incidents will be rewarded by the Delhi Police. The reward can be as much as Rs 50,000.
Delhi Police will publish a monthly list of top traffic violation reporters. Citizens who report the highest number of valid traffic violations through the official platform will be rewarded. The top reporter each month will receive Rs 50,000, while the second, third and fourth place winners will be awarded Rs 25,000, Rs 15,000, and Rs 10,000 respectively.
Violations such as riding without a helmet, jumping red lights, using a mobile phone while driving, illegal vehicle modifications and overloading can be reported through the app.
