Delhi-NCR Weather Forecast: Delhi witnessed moderate to heavy rainfall on Monday, providing much-needed relief from the scorching heat. The downpour also soaked several parts of the National Capital Region, including Noida and Ghaziabad, with early morning showers bringing down the temperatures across the region.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) had earlier issued a rain alert for Delhi and adjoining areas for July 7.

“Scattered moderate to heavy rains with thunderstorms will occur in Ghaziabad, Faridabad, Noida, Palwal, Gurgaon, Baghpat, Parts of Delhi, East Delhi, Jhajjar and nearby areas in the next 2 hours as the axis will shift south once again," it said on X.

Besides, a yellow alert for rain was also issued in Noida, Greater Noida, Gurgaon, Ghaziabad and Faridabad for July 7. The IMD said the sky over these areas is expected to remain cloudy and light to moderate rains could be seen, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning. 

Rains are also expected in several other states of North India, including Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh on Monday. According to the Meteorological Department, the monsoon will remain fully active in these states for the next one week.

Heavy rains may also occur in some places in these areas, which may lead to waterlogging and traffic jams.
