Several parts of Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana on Sunday night experienced heavy rain accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) had already issued a red alert for heavy rain in Delhi. Following the heavy downpour, several areas in Delhi witnessed severe waterlogging, with one car reportedly submerged due to the flooding.

Parts of UP and Haryana also witnessed heavy rains, accompanied by gusty winds and thunderstorms. The IMD had earlier issued a warning for winds blowing at speeds of 40–60 km/h, along with the possibility of severe thunderstorms.

The IMD has urged residents to take necessary precautions. People have been advised to avoid open areas and not to take shelter under trees. They have also been warned to stay away from weak walls, unstable structures and water bodies. Authorities have also requested people to stay alert and adopt all necessary safety measures.

On Wednesday, a cloud cluster entered northern Delhi and moved toward the south-southeast, causing dust storms and strong winds. Several areas in Karnal, Haryana, also witnessed heavy rain with thunder.

In Maharashtra, areas including Thane and Mumbai were lashed by heavy rains late at night, making it difficult for people to step out. The weather department has forecast more heavy rains over the next seven days in Maharashtra, Goa, and other neighbouring states.

After days of scorching heat, Jammu and Punjab saw rain and hailstorms at many places on Saturday. In Jammu and Kashmir, hundreds of trees were uprooted, while a cloudburst hit the Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh. Seven vehicles were washed away and seven others were buried. In Punjab, four people lost their lives due to rain-related incidents.

On Saturday afternoon, many places in Himachal Pradesh experienced heavy rain and storms. A cloudburst occurred in the Jagatkhan Panchayat of Nirmand Tehsil in the Kullu district. Several vehicles parked near a school were swept away by a nearby stream. Power supply in Jagatkhan and the surrounding areas has been disrupted.
