Delhi-NCR Weather: Heavy rains and storms hit several parts of Delhi-NCR on Saturday, May 17, disrupting daily life and properties. Many areas of UP's Greater Noida and Noida Extension suffered significant damage after a severe thunderstorm pounded the cities.

However, no loss of life has been reported as of yet. Videos shared by news agency ANI show trees being uprooted and vehicles damaged in Noida's Sector 9 and a traffic light pole fell down due to a severe storm in the DM Chowk area.

In Delhi, the shed of Rapid Rail Metro Ashok Nagar station was damaged by strong winds and rain.

The IMD has sounded a fresh alert for thunderstorms and rain in Delhi over the next two hours. Delhi woke up to a cloudy sky today. The lowest temperature was recorded at 24.3 degrees Celcius, 2.2 degrees lower than the seasonal average.

The highest temperature is forecast to be approximately 42 degrees Celsius later in the day.

Delhi Weather On May 18

Maximum temperatures will stay around 40–42 degrees Celsius with warmer nights at 26–28 degrees Celsius. Winds will blow from the northwest and west at 20–25 kmph. Expect partly cloudy skies and scattered thunderstorms with gusts up to 50 kmph.

Delhi Weather On May 19

On May 19, temperatures will range from 27 degrees Celsius to 40 degrees Celsius with moderate winds between 10–25 kmph. The weather will remain partly cloudy throughout the day. There is a chance of light rain, thunderstorms, and brief dust-raising gusty winds.
