Over 40 schools across Delhi received bomb threats on Monday morning. Delhi Public School in RK Puram and GD Goenka Public School in Paschim Vihar are among the schools targeted via email. The Delhi Fire Department was notified about this around 7 am.
In response, the school administration sent students back home and the police were also alerted about the situation.

The email was sent at 11:38 on Sunday night, with the sender alerting that multiple bombs were placed inside the school buildings. "The bombs are small and hidden very well," the email read, as per NDTV. Besides, the sender demanded $30,000 to defuse bombs, the report added.
The police, however, declared the threats as “hoax" as they failed to find anything suspicious after an initial investigation.
Notably, this is not the first time schools in Delhi have received such threats. Earlier, several CRPF schools across the country, including two in Delhi and one in Hyderabad, were targeted with hoax bomb threats via email. The investigation revealed that all such threats were fake.
In addition, a high-intensity explosion outside a CRPF school in Prashant Vihar, Rohini, caused panic in the area in October. The blast damaged nearby shops and vehicles. However, there were no casualties.
Following the incident, a pro-Khalistani group claimed responsibility for the blast on Telegram. The Delhi Police subsequently contacted the social media platform, requesting information about the channel from which the post originated.
Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation, Murlidhar Mohol, informed the Parliament that Indian airlines faced over 1,000 hoax bomb threats this year. This was 10 times higher than the previous year.
More than 500 of the year's threats were received just in the last two weeks of October.
