Umar-un-Nabi, a doctor who is alleged to have caused the November 10 Delhi car blast, had visited Kashmir days before the attack. Umar had handed over his phone to his brother Zahoor Illahi and ordered him to dispose of the device in water if news of him surfaced.

On November 10, a high-intensity blast ripped through a car near Red Fort in Delhi, killing 13 people and injuring several others, hours after the busting of a "white collar terror module" in Faridabad. The arrested included doctors linked to Al-Falah University.

A chilling self shot video of Dr Umar Mohammad alias Umar-un-Nabi went viral on social media on Tuesday. The video, justifying suicide bombing as a “martyrdom operation," was recovered from his phone, which was earlier dumped.

Zahoor Illahi first refused to have knowledge of his brother’s plans, news agency PTI quoted officials as saying. However, he later disclosed that Umar had given him his mobile phone with instructions to dispose of it in water if anything related to him surfaced in the media.

Zahoor Illahi then took police to the area where the mobile phone was dumped. The forensic experts then extracted crucial evidence from the device.

As the investigation into the blast near Delhi’s Red Fort progresses, new details continue to emerge. According to a report by jagran.com, the name of a cleric from Jammu and Kashmir has come under scrutiny. The cleric, identified as Irfan Ahmed, is reportedly a resident of Shopian and is alleged to have played a key role in influencing and radicalising the doctors involved in the case.

As per the report, Irfan Ahmed is believed to have links with members of Jaish-e-Mohammed, a Pakistan-based terrorist organisation. Muzamil Shakeel, associated with Al-Falah University in Faridabad, Haryana, had met this cleric. Shakeel was the one who was in possession of 2,950 kg of explosives in Faridabad, including the ammonium nitrate used in the car blast carried out by Dr Umar.
