Delhi Traffic Advisory: In the wake of the inauguration of the new Kartavya Bhawan by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday, the Delhi Traffic Police has issued an advisory informing of the traffic restrictions around Kartavya Path and other areas of the national capital.
According to the traffic advisory, traffic movement will be restricted in parts of New Delhi between 5 PM and 9 PM on Wednesday, due to a special event at the Kartavya Path. Heavy traffic congestion is expected in these areas during the evening rush hours.
Delhi Traffic Advisory: THESE Roads To Remain Closed
According to the advisory released by the Delhi Traffic Police, parking and stopping vehicles will not be allowed on Janpath, Mansingh Road, Maulana Azad Road, Rajendra Prasad Road and other roads around Kartavya Path and C-Hexagon between 5 PM to 9 PM on August 6.
The traffic police have warned commuters to avoid parking or stopping on these stretches. Vehicles found parked on these roads will be towed and prosecuted. The towed vehicles will be moved to the traffic pit near Bhairon Mandir on Bhairon Marg.
Delhi Traffic Advisory: THESE Roads To Remain Diverted
Traffic diversions will be implemented at the roundabouts at Motilal Nehru Place, Mansingh Road, Jaswant Singh Road, and Windsor Place. “Commuters have been advised to avoid the affected roads, follow diversion signs and use public transport to help ease congestion,” the traffic advisory read.
The traffic police have advised commuters travelling to airports and railway stations to plan their routes in advance to avoid inconvenience. Speaking to PTI, Rajeev Kumar, DCP (Traffic), New Delhi district, said, “Traffic police personnel will be deployed along the identified roads from 3 pm onwards to manage vehicular movement and assist commuters during the evening rush.”
