Delhi Traffic Advisory: The Delhi Traffic Police on Sunday issued multiple advisories in light of traffic disruptions caused by heavy rainfall and the IPL match scheduled at Arun Jaitley Stadium. According to the advisory, traffic will be affected on roads around the stadium from 5:30 PM to midnight on May 25, due to the IPL match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kolkata Knight Riders.
The movement of buses and heavy vehicles has been restricted from Daryaganj to Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg and from Guru Nanak Chowk to Asaf Ali Road during this period. Commuters heading to the stadium have been advised to use public transport to avoid inconvenience.
In addition, several parts of the national capital are facing traffic restrictions and delays due to waterlogging caused by heavy rainfall on Saturday.
“Traffic is restricted at the Azad Market underpass in both directions - from Azad Market towards Pratap Nagar and vice versa - due to waterlogging. Diversions have been implemented," the alert read.
Traffic from Rani Jhansi Road has been diverted towards Barf Khana, while vehicles from Barf Khana have been diverted towards Pul Mithai and Idgah. The traffic from Pul Mithai is being sent towards Barf Khana and Rani Jhansi Road, while the vehicles from Vir Banda Bairagi Marg are being diverted towards Old Rohtak Road.
Another advisory states that the traffic disruptions will be in place on Rohtak Road. This is due to waterlogging and road repair work.
"Another disruption has been reported on GTK Road in the carriageway from Vikram Batra Flyover towards Azadpur due to waterlogging near Jahangirpuri Metro Station. Police have requested motorists to avoid the stretch and take alternate routes," the alert read.
