Gujarat Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday stated that several districts of Gujarat are likely to receive light to heavy rainfall till May 30. The weather department added that, along with the rainfall, these regions are also expected to witness thunderstorms and gusty winds. It emphasized that the change in weather is likely to reduce the temperature by one to two degrees Celsius, providing relief from the heat. The weather department has advised the residents of the coastal regions to follow the guidelines and limit their outings to avoid any inconveniences.
Saurashtra Region To Receive Heavy Rain
While providing details, the weather department stated that several districts of Saurashtra, including Morbi, Surendranagar, Amreli, Jamnagar, Rajkot, Botad, Devbhoomi Dwarka, Porbandar, Junagadh, Bhavnagar, Gir-Somnath, Vadodara, Chhota Udepur, Bharuch, Narmada, Surat, Tapi, Dang, Navsari, and Valsad, are likely to receive light to heavy rainfall in the upcoming few days. Apart from this, rainfall is also expected in other regions of the state. It stated that the weather has changed due to the early arrival of the monsoon in Kerala, adding that the formation of a system in the Arabian Sea has also caused the rainfall.
Multiple Districts To Witness Rain, Gusty Winds
The weather department further stated that Kutch district is also likely to receive rainfall on May 27 and May 28. Apart from the Saurashtra region, the IMD stated that heavy rain and thunderstorms are also likely in several other districts, including Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Kheda, Anand, Panchmahal, Aravalli, Mehsana, Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, and Patan, till May 30. The weather department further stated that light to moderate rain with gusty wind is also expected in Vadodara, Chhota Udepur, Narmada, Bharuch, Surat, Tapi, Navsari, Dang, and Valsad.
Apart from Gujarat, rainfall is also expected in several other states, including West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Telangana. The IMD stated that the temperature is likely to surge in parts of Gujarat from June 5.
