Delhi Traffic Alert: The Delhi Traffic Police on Wednesday announced traffic restrictions and diversions in Vasant Kunj from October 8 to 22. The restrictions will be in place till October 22 due to the complete closure of one carriageway on Master Plan Road, between Masoodpur and Aruna Asaf Ali Marg.
The Delhi Traffic Police has advised commuters to anticipate delays and plan alternative routes during the specified period to avoid inconvenience.
Delhi Traffic Advisory: Check Affected Routes, Alternate Roads
- According to the traffic advisory, residents of Sectors B-10, B-9, and B-8 are advised to use Nelson Mandela Marg for entry and Aruna Asaf Ali Marg for exit during the affected period.
- Traffic at Masoodpur Red Light on Mehrauli-Mahipalpur Marg will be restricted to two-way movement only.
- The right turn from Sector B-8 to the T-point of Sector B-10 on Bhagwan Mahavir Marg will be closed for vehicular movement, the advisory further stated.
- Additionally, the right turn from Kishangarh towards Sector B-10 will also remain closed till October 22 due to construction work.
- “There will be no right turn towards Bhagwan Mahavir Marg (B-10), nor will U-turns be permitted. School buses, vans, and parents dropping off or picking up students should plan their routes in advance to avoid congestion,” news agency PTI reported.
Why Are Traffic Restrictions Imposed In Vasant Kunj?
According to an advisory issued by the Delhi Traffic Police, traffic movement will be restricted in Vasant Kunj due to the complete closure of one carriageway on Master Plan Road from Masoodpur to Aruna Asaf Ali Marg.

During the restricted period, cement-concrete road construction work will be carried out by the Delhi Development Authority (DDA). The restrictions are in place from today, October 8 to October 22.
Authorities have advised commuters to follow official guidelines and plan their journey via alternate routes to avoid inconvenience. School buses, vans, and parents dropping off or picking up students are also advised to plan their routes accordingly.
