Few days back, three traffic policemen in Delhi were caught on CCTV sharing money that one of them received as a bribe. The footage, which has circulated widely on social media, shows a confrontation inside a police check post at Gazipur’s Thrill Lauri Circle.
The video begins with one officer arguing with a man. After a brief exchange, the policeman indicates to the man, who places a bundle of cash on a table while the officer keeps watch. Once the man leaves, the officer sits down to count the money. The scene then shifts to all three policemen together as one of them divides the cash among them, leading to smiles as they accept their shares.
Delhi's Lieutenant Governor, VK Saxena, responded to the incident on X, stated that the two Assistant Sub-Inspectors and one head constable involved have been suspended. He stated, “After a preliminary investigation, the three policemen have been suspended and a comprehensive departmental inquiry is being conducted against them.”
