“I will start 'Pani Satyagraha' from today... I will start an indefinite fast at Bhogal, Jangpura from noon until the people of Delhi get their rightful share of water from Haryana," Atishi wrote on X.

The Delhi Water Minister earlier claimed that for the past two weeks, Haryana has been providing 100 million gallons per day less water to Delhi than its share of 613 MGD, affecting 28 lakh people in the national capital. Earlier on Wednesday, Atishi wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, seeking his intervention in the water crisis issue faced by the national capital. She earlier emphasised that she would go an an indefinite hunger strike if the Centre fails to address the issue.
During a press conference, Atishi stated that the water crisis in Delhi was due to Haryana’s actions. She also mentioned that she has written several letters to the Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini, however, the BJP-ruled state is yet to release the water share.
However, Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva, minister of state for defence Harsh Malhotra, MPs Manoj Tiwari, Ramvir Singh Bidhuri, and others hit out at the Delhi government over the water issue.
“In 2018, the Kejriwal government similarly accused the Haryana and Punjab of not providing water to Delhi. They took the accusation to the Upper Yamuna River Board, which, after investigation, ruled that the Kejriwal government’s accusation was false and that Haryana was supplying water to Delhi as per the agreement,” Sachdeva said.
Meanwhile, AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh urged all parties in the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) bloc to support AAP’s demand for fair distribution of water to the national capital and alleged that the BJP orchestrated the severe water crisis in Delhi
