Delhi Weather: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts that Wednesday will be mostly overcast with thunderstorms, lightning, and moderate rain. A 'yellow' alert is also in effect for the whole day, with a minimum temperature of 28 degrees Celsius and a high temperature of 35 degrees Celsius. According to the IMD, on Tuesday, July 2, the monsoon reached every part of the nation before its typical date of July 8.
The meteorological agency reports that on Tuesday, the highest temperature in Delhi was 36.7 degrees Celsius, which is 0.7 degrees below average. There was also light rain in several areas of the city.
The IMD stated, using its most recent satellite images in the evening, that convective clouds have been observed, suggesting the probability of mild to moderate rain in a few locations, along with thunderstorms and lightning. Around 3 PM, light rains were observed from a few locations in Delhi, it added.
Delhi Weekly Weather Forecast
The IMD's weather prediction for New Delhi for the next several days calls for a mostly overcast sky with variable amounts of rain, thunderstorms, and lightning. The maximum temperature on July 3 will be 35 degrees, and the lowest temperature will be 28 degrees.
There will be moderate rain and thunderstorms, with winds from the southwest at 8 km/h in the morning and southeast at 16 km/h in the afternoon, dropping to 12 km/h by the evening. On July 4 and 5, temperatures will be around 34 and 33 degrees Celsius, respectively. There will also be light to moderate rainfall and thunderstorms, and in the afternoon and evening, easterly winds will shift to the southeast.
The weather is expected to be overcast with light to moderate rain, thunderstorms, and lightning from July 6 to 8. Daytime highs will be about 33 degrees Celsius and evening lows will be around 26 degrees Celsius. There will be a difference in wind direction and speed between southeasterly and easterly, 6 to 16 km/h. It is anticipated that this pattern of mild weather will continue, giving much-needed rainfall to the area.
